Security management components

System security within BusinessObjects Enterprise is distributed across most components, but it is managed primarily by the WCA, the CMS, the security plug-ins, and third-party authentication tools, such as SiteMinder and Kerberos. These components work together to authenticate and to authorize users who access BusinessObjects Enterprise, its folders, and its other objects.

This section discusses the key components as they relate to system security. It includes:

• Web Component Adapter
• Central Management Server
• Security plug-ins
• Processing extensions
