BusinessObjects Enterprise systems that use the BusinessObjects Enterprise Java SDK or the BusinessObjects Enterprise .NET SDK run on a third party application server. The application server acts as the gateway between the web server and the rest of the components in BusinessObjects Enterprise. The application server is responsible for processing requests from your browser. It also supports InfoView and other Business Objects applications, and uses the SDK to convert report pages (.epf files) to HTML format when users view pages with a DHTML viewer.
